The Human Orchestra
So I went to a show in Providence the other night. Three opening acts. First one was mediocre at best. Second one was terrible, but oddly mesmerizing. I’d love to hear a cleaned up recorded version of their stuff. Mostly out of morbid curiousity. Their bizarre guitarist did rock pretty hard. I will give them that much.
The highlight of the entire evening was Kenny Muhammad. He’s a “human beatbox” much like Rahzel. He went on a little long, but it was still pretty great. Not at all like anything I had ever seen in person before. He was also very positive and up beat. Which, in a room filled with gloomy goth kids, is really kind of refreshing.
The band we actually went to see came on at about 11pm. Unfortunately, during their set I had a pretty terrible time. I don’t quite know when the change happened, but at some point between Kenny and them, my mood went from fine to seriously bad. The more I think about it, the more I feel like I know the main culprit for why I was so mad. I wish I had found a better way to deal with it though. I really don’t like the way I felt. Nothing was funny, nothing was fun, I just wanted to get out of there more than anything else. And this is a band I really like and who is very funny. Hopefully that wont happen again.
